The Seasonal Sessions: Winter

Half Day Virtual Retreat: Discover the art of  ‘Wintering’—finding warmth, comfort, and inner calm during the quieter months.

Join us on January 10, 2026 from 12:30 - 6:30 PM EST, for an interactional and transformative virtual retreat inspired by Nordic traditions that celebrate coziness, introspection, and seasonal self-care. This retreat will give you the tools to help gently adjust to and celebrate Winter all season long.

Winter is a seasonal invitation of stillness and reflection, of rest and restoration. Moments are slowed down, as if time itself pauses to take a breath. The natural world retreats into a quiet slumber—trees stand bare, animals hibernate, and even the sun lingers low in the sky. This gentle slowing invites us to do the same, to step back from the noise of daily life and turn inward. This Winter retreat is the perfect opportunity for a pause- a chance to embrace the quiet and learn the deeper lessons of “Wintering,” the art of allowing ourselves to rest, heal, nourish, and create meaningful connection amongst the dark and cold shorter days. It is a space to restore not just the body, but the spirit—an intentional slowing down to find beauty in simplicity, peace in stillness, and, ultimately, renewal in the heart of Winter.

What You'll Experience
This retreat blends traditional healing Winter lessons, gentle restorative movement, and energy work for a fully immersive experience.

Presented by Diane Gilman, PsyD

Diane Gilman, PsyD has been an official Winter hater her entire life, finding ways to escape the cold and dark whenever she could. When asked, her favorite holiday was “Daylight Savings Time in March” when the days could be longer and lighter again. All of that changed across her travels though the Nordic countries- Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Over several trips across this region, she learned about hygge and the art of ‘Wintering’, and these lessons changed her perspective on the Winter season forever (she even cried on Daylight Savings Time in March 2025!). Diane is a licensed psychologist and owner of The Center for Mind and Body Health, where she specializes in health psychology, and is also the owner of Great Minds Abroad where she hosts women’s international Indigenous healing retreats.

Presented by Lauren Fonvielle,
