Money stress can feel all-consuming. Whether it’s the anxiety of making ends meet, unexpected bills, or the belief that you’ll never have enough, those thoughts can create a sense of fear, pressure, and even shame. If you've ever found yourself spiraling in scarcity thinking, you're not alone—and there is something you can do to shift the energy.
Enter EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), also known as tapping. This powerful mind-body tool blends gentle acupressure with focused intention and spoken affirmations. The idea is simple: by tapping on specific points on the body while acknowledging limiting beliefs, you calm your nervous system and rewire how your brain responds to stress—especially around money.
Why Tapping Works for Financial Fear
Our thoughts about money aren’t just mental—they’re emotional and physical. Your body remembers every stressful money moment: the overdraft, the debt, the “no” when you wanted to say “yes.” Over time, these experiences form beliefs like:
“There’s never enough.”
“I’m not good with money.”
“I don’t deserve wealth.”
“Money is hard to get.”
Tapping helps you bring those beliefs to the surface and soften them. It allows you to feel the fear without getting stuck in it—and then make space for new, more empowering beliefs about abundance.
A Simple Tapping Script to Try
Start by rating your current level of stress about money (0–10).
On the side of your hand (karate chop point), say: “Even though I feel like I don’t have enough money, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Repeat 3 times.
Tap through these points and say what’s true for you:
Eyebrow: “I never feel like there’s enough.”
Side of Eye: “I’m so tired of worrying about money.”
Under Eye: “This fear sits heavy in my body.”
Under Nose: “I always feel behind.”
Chin: “What if it’s never enough?”
Collarbone: “What if I’m not enough?”
Under Arm: “I’m open to shifting this story.”
Top of Head: “Maybe abundance is available to me.”
Take a deep breath and check in again. Has your stress shifted?
Final Thoughts Tapping isn’t about pretending money stress doesn’t exist. It’s about giving yourself emotional relief in the middle of it. It’s about opening the door to new beliefs—ones that say you are worthy of abundance, that money can flow, and that you are capable of handling it.
Try this practice regularly, especially when those old scarcity thoughts creep in. You might be surprised how your inner world—and eventually your outer one—begins to shift.
