Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that the best is yet to come. That's not to say we ignore the present, but instead we acknowledge it, and choose to focus on the beauty, promise and wonder that the future holds.
Get Clear On Your Vision
What do you want in your life? What does your perfect day look like? Where are you living? What are you wearing? Who is with you? How do you feel? Paint a clear picture in your mind. The more specific you can get the better.
Identify the Doubts
When you say these things aloud, is there any hesitation? Do any "yes, but" phrases come to mind? For example:
Vision - I want run my own business
Yes, but - I'm not sure I can really do it
Vision - I want to write a book
Yes, but - I don't have enough time.
From EFT Founder Gary Craig: “the events in our lives create our beliefs about the world, and those beliefs can either pose limits or open new possibilities.” Our self talk plays a HUGE role in our beliefs. If you believe you CAN you WILL, and if you believe you can't, you won't. It's really as simple as that!
Tap It Out
Once you are clear on your goal, write down all the "yes, but" thoughts that come to mind. Then get to work and start tapping on them. What emotions come to mind? What memories? When you move through the tapping process you can move toward replacing the negative talk with more positive affirmations.
