There are many life experiences that can lead to feeling helpless and hopeless. Sometimes it can feel incredibly overwhelming and like it's too much for one person to bear. In my experience this is often a result of feeling like you don't have any control over the situation at hand.
Being exposed to stressful situations, or having experienced traumatic events are likely contributors to the helpless feelings. These emotions can show up physically too. It can look different for each person, but commonly this includes: crying, fatigue, and trouble sleeping.
